Reasearch is an systematic process in order to elucidate new knowledge. Doing research and publishing it are part of lecturers’s duty. In conducting good research, a proper amount of fund is needed and nowadays research grants are abundantly available. Many have provide the grants—from local funding such as faculty, university and national up to international sources—for various schemes starts from beginner research to multiyears projects. In order to obtain these grants, researchers are supposed to submit qualified proposals particular to the target funding source.
To encourage the submission of qualified research proposals, Research and Community Service Unit of Faculty of Medicine (BPPM-FKUB) held a workshop on Writing National Research Grant Proposal in April 2017. The workshop aimed to improve the quality as well as quantity of research proposals of both university and national levels in FMUB. This writing workshop was conducted at 6, 7 and 20 April, 2017 and was guided by dr Gunadi, SpBA, PhD, dr. Nur Arfian, PhD, dr. M Saifurrohman, SpJP(K) PhD, Widodo, Ssi, PhD, Dr. drg. Nur Permatasari, MS, and Agustina Tri Endharti, SSi, PhD. In this event, participants were required to bring their proposal drafts to be reviewed by and consulted to the facilitator in two-week period before the submission deadline. The writing workshop resulted in around 40% increase in proposal submssion by the lecturers. Viewing the favorable prospect, the workshop is scheduled to be held annually.
