BPPM is a faculty body that serves to improve the quality and quantity of research, community service, and national and international cooperation at Faculty of Medicine Brawijaya University. Research and community service, are included in the aspects of the three responsibilities of higher education. In addition, research and community service embodied in a as a strategic publication benchmark for determining the position of the university among other universities. Moreover, cooperation with both national and international institutions provide significant support for research and community service both in terms of implementation and the acquisition of grant funds.

Due to its complex roles and functions, BPPM requires the management, monitoring and evaluation of annual work programs of each field comprehensively and accountably. Along with the development of research grant system in Indonesia and the lecturer staff of Faculty of Medicine Brawijaya University, the guidance of research grant of the faculty grant from Non-Tax State Revenue (PNPB) also needs to be adjusted. In addition, better administration system is also required by applying System Operating Procedure (SOP) in every field.

Associated with the efforts to improve the quality and quantity of research and community service Faculty of Medicine Brawijaya University, then a work meeting was held and attended by the dean officials, chairman, secretary and secretariat of BPPM, the entire coordinators and members of BPPM. This meeting included any field activity reporting, monitoring and evaluation of the work program, the preparation of SOP and guide PNBP of faculty grants for 2018. BPPM meeting work in 2017 was opened by the Dean. In this chance, the dean, Dr. dr. Sri Andarini, M. Kes appreciated the effort of BPPM team in increasing the number of research and environmental publication at Faculty of Medicine Brawijaya University. She also pointed out to more optimally utilize the existing cooperation for promoting and increasing the number of research and community service. (Ratih PS)
