Tour de Idul Adha: Bringing Orphanage Children Closer to FMUB

In celebration of Idul Adha 1445 H, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya (FMUB) organized a series of events, including the sacrificial slaughter of animals and the Tour de Idul Adha for dozens of orphans from two orphanages in Malang City. FMUB aimed to connect the campus with the surrounding community and provide motivation and education to these special children on this special day.

This was the second time FMUB held the faculty tour during the Idul Adha celebration. This year’s participants were middle and high school-aged children from two orphanages: Aisyiyah Orphanage and Muhammadiyah Children Center KH Mas Mansyur. The event was well received by the participants, who were delighted and expressed hope to be invited again to learn more about FMUB.

In his report, the Chairman of Idul Adha 1445 H FKUB, Dr. Syamsul Arifin, M.Biomed., Sp.M, mentioned that the morning activities included the sacrificial slaughter of animals. Additionally, dozens of children from the two orphanages participated in a series of events, including the sacrificial ceremony and a faculty tour. The tour involved visiting the Universitas Brawijaya Monument and returning to the Faculty of Medicine to see the facilities, infrastructure, laboratories, and auditorium at FMUB.

This year’s faculty tour focused on middle and high school-aged children, unlike last year’s event, which targeted elementary school-aged children. The participants showed great enthusiasm, actively asking questions and answering the questions prepared by the organizers. Dr. Arifin expressed his hope that this event would continue in the future, allowing the children to become more familiar with FMUB and be motivated to pursue their education and dreams.
