FKUB Social Service Got Support from Various Parties

The series of the 43rd Medical Faculty (FKUB) Dies Natalis celebration were very lively and were supported from various parties. Under the theme of Unity in Harmony “Unite to Fight for Healthy Malang”, one of the activities was social service and free treatment activity for the veterans, retired staffs, the citizens and dhuafa on Saturday (January 7, 2017) at Rampal Field, Kesatrian Malang.

Within this humanitarian action, FKUB cooperated with a number of FKUB academicians, agencies, organizations, and NGOs, including KODIM 0833, Kesdam, DENBEKANG, DENKESYAH, DINKES MALANG, Indonesian Doctor Association (IDI) Malang, Indonesian Pharmacist Association (IAI) Malang, Malang Care, FKUB Doctor Alumni, FKUB Chairman Board, staffs, and FKUB Student Executive Board.

Also present at the joint activities, the Dean and Vice Dean I, II, and III of FKUB, Kodim 0833 Commander, Kesdam Commander, Denbekang Commander, Chairman of IDI Malang, Chairman of IAI Malang, Chairman of Dinkes, members of Malang Care and members of Kodim 0833.

Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati PW M.Kes, SpRad (K) as the Chief Executive of the 43rd Medical Faculty (FKUB) Dies Natalis celebration reported that this activity is one of a series of 43rd FKUB Dies Natalis event where on the last Friday (January 6, 2017) we have implemented tausiyah and prayer with children from orphanages, and our secondary agenda is today’s social activity, while this Sunday is the peak of the anniversary which will be completed with activities like tour de Karangkates cycling, funbike around Malang, Healthy Walking, Expo on Specialist Program Study, Bazar, and Entertainment.

Furthermore, this Vice Dean III FKUB also added that these social activities are a first time collaboration involving several organizations. In social activities this time we have distributed approximately 750 coupons, which consists of 100 coupons for LVRI, 375 for PPAD, 100 coupons for retired staffs of FKUB, and other Dhuafa and the communities around, and this program is supported by more than 30 doctors, Medical Staffs of Kesdam, Indonesian Doctor Association (IDI) Malang, Indonesian Pharmacist Association Malang, Lakesma FKUB, and staffs from FKUB, we hope that these activities can be repeated.

On the same occasion, Malang Care Association Chairman, Dr. dr. Dhelya Widasmara, SpKK, expressed her gratitude to FKUB because of the authority given to Malang Care as the promoters to implement these activities.

Further, this alumna of FKUB asserted that Malang care is a non-profit organization engaged in humanitarian particularly in the health sector with a principle of 5 working days and 1 day to do charity. In accordance with our vision that we as the younger generations have a commitment to do better than just speaking, said the woman who was born in the year of 1982.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FKUB, Dr.dr. Sri Andarini, M.Kes, welcomes these social service activities. She said in her speech that this is the first collaborative activity of many agencies and institutions that have been implemented by FKUB with Kodim, I hope this activity can be continued and carried out every three months.

As a Higher Education Institution, FKUB has an obligation to run Tri Dharma. As a university we have to improve Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). With social service activities like this, then we will meet our target to complete our tasks and responsibilities.

FKUB now ranks the fifth among Medical Faculties in Indonesia, and UB becomes the second favorite university in Indonesia. As one of favorites and large campus, we can involve the whole faculties in UB to participate in our social service, so that our activities will be the better, varied, and in accordance with the standard of community service from the faculties at UB, she said.

We hope that these sincere activities are not carried out only in the scope of Malang city, but we plan to help people in rural areas.
