Master Program in Biomedical Sciences (Program Magister Ilmu Biomedik / PMIB) has been listed as one of three study program in Universitas Brawijaya that will undergo 65th visitation of ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance on 23 – 25 August 2016. PMIB is also the very first master program in ASEAN which is to be visited by AUN-Secretariat. To prepare this event, PMIB held Simulation of AUN-QA Visitation from 26 July 2016 until 9 August 2016.

Simulation process consist of several events, such as internal simulation by PMIB, firefighting training (read the news here), internal simulation by PJM and external simulation. The whole simulation involved a number of stakeholder: permanent lecturer of PMIB, students of PMIB, supporting staff, alumni and employer (user of alumni). This was to help stakeholder to adapt with real AUN-QA visitation atmosphere later in August.

Internal and external simulation process aimed to harmonize the perception of all stakeholder which is chosen as interviewee about AUN-QA and PMIB, especially regarding the ongoing curriculum structure and Program Learning Outcome in PMIB Internal simulation by PMIB was held on 26 July 2016 led by AUN-QA taskforce.  Internal simulation by PJM was held on 8 August 2016, led by internal assessor from PJM UB, Ir. AUN-QA itself is study program certification at ASEAN level with Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, as its headquarter. AUN-QA was born as an effort to harmonize the education standard among study programs all over higher education unit in ASEAN. This certification allows academic communities from certified study program to join in many AUN activities, such as scholarship, joint research, seminar and other forums. This becomes the biggest motivation for PMIB to pursue AUN-QA certification, which is to strengthen the existence of PMIB in ASEAN, and also open even bigger opportunities for lecturer, student and alumni of PMIB to take part in scientific community in ASEAN level.

Master Program in Biomedical Sciences has begun to initiate preparation for internationalization since 2013. Preparation for Self Assessment Report (SAR) AUN-QA has begun since the beginning of 2014 with guidance from Quality Assurance Center (PJM) Universitas Brawijaya. Taskforce for SAR AUN-QA preparation consists of seven people Aswaty Nur, S.Si., M.Kes; dr. Siwipeni Irmawanti Rahayu, M.Biomed; dr. Dian Nugrahenny, M.Biomed; Dr. dr. Loeki Enggar Fitri, M.Kes, Sp.ParK; Kana Mardhiyyah, S.Si., M.Biomed; dr. Titik Cinthia Dewi, M.Biomed and dr. Nia Kurnianingsih, M.Biomed.

Since June 2016, PMIB has established committee of Preparation of AUN-QA Visitation Preparation, led by dr. Siwipeni Irmawanti Rahayu, M.Biomed, and consists of 40 committee members, 100 interviewees and a number of supporting staff from laboratories, faculty and university.
