Dozens of hospital directors and managers from various regions, who are graduates of the MMRS (Master of Hospital Management, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya), gathered to celebrate the 17th anniversary of MMRS. The event was held on June 29 and 30, 2024, at building A of FMUB. This year’s anniversary theme was “The Power of 17th, Dedication for Nation & Future Generations.”
On the first day, the election for the chairman of the MMRS Student and Alumni Association (IMA) for the 2024-2029 period was held, followed by the handover from the previous administration. Muhammad Zainul Arifin, ST., STP., MM., MMRS was elected as the new chairman, replacing Dr. Kasil Rokhmad, MMRS. Mr. Arifin expressed his hopes and requested support from all members to advance and develop IMA MMRS.
The second day of the anniversary was marked by a vibrant series of events themed around the number seventeen, attended by hundreds of participants. The day began with a 17-minute flash mob, followed by a group walk around Universitas Brawijaya covering 1.7 km. After the walk, the organizers provided and arranged various types of tumpeng, including 17 portions of yellow rice tumpeng, fried foods, cakes, puddings, putu lanang, cendol, and more. The main tumpeng was an impressive 1.7 meters in height, all contributed by MMRS students and alumni since 2006.
The event was opened by the Vice Dean III of FMUB, Dr. Shahdevi Nandar Kurniawan, Sp.S (K), with a prayer and hope for the continued success and benefits of MMRS. Dr. Tita Hariyanti, M.Kes, the head of the MMRS program, expressed in her speech that this was the first-anniversary celebration of the MMRS program. She was delighted to bring together alumni from various batches and cities, feeling both emotional and grateful for their presence and the efforts of the organizers.
The event continued with the cutting of the largest 1.7-meter tumpeng by the new IMA chairman, which was then presented to the head of the MMRS program and the Vice Dean III of FMUB. This was followed by the release of 16 small balloons and the unveiling of a box containing the numbers 1 and 7 as the climax of the celebration. Adding to the special occasion, a song was launched as the MMRS FMUB anthem, with the handing over of the anthem plaque from the organizers to the MMRS FMUB program head.
The event featured performances by the band “Aguna Music,” as well as by MMRS students from the 2022 batch and songs from the 2023 batch. Various door prizes and a photo booth were also prepared by the organizers to enliven the event. Dr. Sylvi Rahmayanti, MMRS., FisQua, an alumni participant from Sidoarjo, expressed her joy in attending the 17th-anniversary celebration. She said, “The event was lively, beautifully organized, all themed around seventeen, making it feel like being seventeen again, forgetting about age.” She hopes that the anniversary celebration can be held annually with more varied activities.
