PSPDS Neurology FKUB, in collaboration with SMF Neurology RSUD dr. Saiful Anwar Malang, this year again held the MIELUM-XII (Malang Integrated Education in Neurology Meeting – XII), a continuing neurology medical education activity held annually in Malang. This event will take place from October 5th to November 23rd, 2024, with Symposium on October 12-13, 2024 at the Grand Mercure Malang Mirama Hotel as its peak event. This year’s MIELUM is titled “Innovative Solutions for Neurological Challenges: A Technological Odyssey”.
The series of MIELUM-XII events included online teaching courses, workshops, scientific poster competition, and symposium. The Symposium featured scientific sessions with leading neurologists in Malang, interactive discussions, as well as an opening performance from PPDS Neurology FKUB and a closing performance from the PSPDS Neurology FKUB band, Neuroma Akustik. The event also featured online Prof. Guy Thwaites from Oxford University who presented the topic “Improving Outcome from Tuberculous Meningitis.”
One of the participants, dr. Anastasia Longa, winner of the Best Poster in the Case Report category, stated, “MIELUM-XII is very useful because it presents updates on neurology for all medical practitioners and opens up opportunities to excel through the poster competition.” The scientific poster competition itself was held for the first time after 12 years of MIELUM, adding to the appeal of this event for general practitioners and students.
