There were food stands and stands for several communities that deals with society concerns or environment concerns that were present during the charity concert. In addition to the charity concert, the event, which starts at 9:00 am at GrahaMedika, invited 5 remarkable speakers for the national conference to share their knowledge with more than 150 participants.

The first speaker was Benny Chandra Monacho, a Brawijaya University student majoring in Physics, who had successfully created a tool to recycle detergent waste into clean water, which can be used again. His invention had won many national and international awards.

The second speaker wasa Ranitya Nurlita, an activist in a project called ASEAN Reusable Bag Campaign. There are many dangerous effects of plastic waste, such as one that came from plastic waste that has been exposed to heat and water for a long time which then resulted in various harmful substances contaminating both soil and water, and even fishes that we often consume. To overcome this problem, we could use our plastic bag over and over again or switch to using reusable bag.

The third speaker was Luqman Reza Mulyono or also known as Jongkie. He is a painter whose work has been in demand from all over the world. His paintings that he named ‘aliranJongkie’, which price ranged from 100 thousand to 7,5 million rupiah each, convey a moral message regarding endangered animals that are becoming even more endangered.

Our fourth and fifth speakers were HariyawanAgungWahyudi and drh. ErniSuyanti, both are activist that work on the field and deal with animals (tigers, elephants, or even orangutan), talked about endangered animals. They both mentioned that animal is a valuable asset owned by a nation, and something that we should pass on to our next generations. However, several species are going extinct due to several reasons, such as habitat loss and climate change, and even poaching and illegal animal trade. To prevent those things from happening, we should work together with NGOs, Pemda, our society, private sector, and KLHK BKSDA/TN.

The importantmessage from this event is that theenvironmental activists aren’t the only ones responsible to take care of our, everyone is responsible because we all live and enjoy nature together. (Public Relations Departement Faculty of Medicine Brawijaya University)
