Launching and Reviewing Textbook “Community Diagnosis for Health Intervention”

The Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine – Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya (IKM – KP FKUB) held a Virtual Textbook Launching and Review with the title “Community Diagnosis for Health Intervention” on Thursday, 3 February 2022.

The Dean of FMUB, Dr. dr. Wisnu Barlianto, MSi., Med., SpA (K) in his speech congratulated the IKM – KP Department and all Lecturers who have succeeded in publishing this textbook. He really appreciated the release of this textbook. The book will help the teaching and learning process, especially for FMUB students in the IKM-KP department as one of the competencies of general practitioners is the ability to carry out community diagnoses and I think this is very important and very useful. He also hoped that this book can help the students and graduates to have good competencies and can play an active role in the community later, especially when conducting community diagnoses or conducting health interventions, he hoped.

Present on this occasion, the Head of the IKM-KP Department, the Head of the Family Medicine Department and the entire team of lecturers from the IKM-KP Department, Young Medical Students (DM) and responders from FKKM UGM Dr.dr. Mubasysyir Hasanbasri.

According to dr. Harun Al Rasyid, MPH., Health is multidimensional and most people call themselves healthy when they can work, even though in fact they often have health problems such as hypertension and this is a silent killer. In this book, he and the team emphasized on students to learn to find the reality in the classroom and in the field. This book tries to provide the solution of the problem.

The book that was proposed since 5 years ago started to be written intensively during the last 3 years. It is written to guide the students when they have assignments or situations similar to previous rotations in IKM so that they can carry out appropriate steps for public health interventions. This book is general in nature, not only in Indonesia. Thus, it is hoped that it can be used as a guide for all foreign students and be practiced anywhere. (An4nk – HumasFKUB)
