Rector Inaugurates Wastewater Disposal Facility (IPAL) and Joint Education Building (GBP), A Present at 44th FMUB Anniversary

At its 44th anniversary, Faculty of Medicine Universitas Brawijaya (FMUB)’s improvements and achievements have been remarkable. This positive development leads to the improved quality of alumni, a considerable number of whom also enjoy successes in their careers; they are elected to take and appointed to be in strategic positions in different fields, such as education, health, society and governments

In celebrating its 44th anniversary, Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohammad Bisri, MS, the rector of Universitas Brawijaya inaugurated the installation of UB’s wastewater disposal facility (IPAL) and  Gedung Pendidikan Bersama / Joint Education Building (GPB) of the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Brawijaya. This event was attended by alumni from various cohorts, celebrating the major event and at the same time taking the time for reunion.

Taking a theme of “Collaboration on Health Empowerment” ,the lively dies natalis commemoration was run on 14 January 2018.

Participating in the event were the former deans of FMUB, UB Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohammad Bisri and  Vice Rectors, Deans of faculties at UB and vice deans, chairs of bodies, director and vice director of Saiful Anwar Public Hospital, civitas of FMUB (administrative staffs, lecturers, and students) and alumni from various cohorts.

In its report Dr. dr. Sri Andarini, M.Kes, the dean of FMUB elaborated the forerunners and brief history of FMUB, beginning from the Medical Institute of Malang (STKM) that had only several cohorts of students 63 to 73.

“We are thankful for all the attentions of all alumni especially STKM alumni for their contribution in the form of a fish pond and a newly-built veranda that certainly will be useful for the activities of academic community of FMUB, and in this excellent opportunity we also would like to request Rector to inaugurate it. Last but not least, we thank the regent of Kediri, our alumni, for the donation of the Koi fish” said the former vice dean I of FMUB.

“We are also grateful for the Rector’s assistance and supports for the construction of two large buildings in FMUB (GPB) and in RSSA (GPT) which are expected to support the facilities in the education process at FKUB. This 44th  Anniversary of FKUB is special because at the same time  the Joint Education Building (GPB) and the first Wastewater Disposal Facility (IPAL) in UB will be inaugurated by the Rector”, she explained.

In his speech, the Rector of UB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohammad Bisri, MS said “we congratulate the Faculty of Medicine UB, a faculty with 32 study programs and the largest in UB, which is certainly not easy to be managed.”

Further, Rector added “FKUB’s roles are very clear and visible; with its maximum efforts it has yielded 2 National accredited study programs (AUNQA) and many “A” accredited programs.  We hope the inauguration of this building will further improve the quality of education in FMUB”.

The event was held in conjunction with a healthy family walk, Bazar, Fun bike, Tour de Batu, and door prize draw.
