Increasing the Capacity in Guiding Young Doctors, the Department of Family Medicine Held Training for Clinical Supervisors at the FMUB Education Center

After nearly 3 years of the Covid-19 Pandemic, when all offline activities of Young Doctors were stopped, some preparation is needed in educating Young Doctors who are carrying out Clinical Rotations in educational facilities. Therefore, to return the Rotation of Family Medicine Clinics to Health Centers in Malang City, the Department of Family Medicine FMUB carried out a series of activities “Training for Clinical Advisors of the FMUB Educational Forum” as a refreshment and capacity-building effort for Clinical Advisors (Preceptors) from 6 Community Health Centers in Malang City.

Head of the FMUB Family Medicine Science Department and concurrently serving as Chief Executive of dr. Nuretha Hevy Purwaningtyas, M.Sc., Sp. D.L.P. said, that before the pandemic, they had carried out the staging at the Puskesmas but we pulled it back because it was cut off for almost 3 years, but they would send the Young Doctor back to the Puskesmas in the future. She added, this activity is an initiation as well as providing training to clinical supervisors at the Puskesmas, on how to guide young doctors and how to evaluate or assess them. In this case, we used 6 Community Health Centers, including Health Centers Dinoyo, Kendal Kerep, Kendalsari, Mulyorejo, Kedung Kandang, and Polowijen as well as the Malang City Health Office.

Apart from that, with this activity, it is hoped that the Clinical Advisors at the Educational Forum will be ready to carry out mentoring for younger DMs. They will also be able to carry out assessments, discussions of joint cases, and refreshments by the specialist doctors as capacity building for clinical supervising doctors at the FMUB Educational Forum.
