FMUB Successfully Holds a Virtual Community Service Education Parade for 64 Hours

In the series of events for the 48th FMUB Anniversary, the committee held a Community Service event through a series of Educational Parade activities with the target of breaking the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) with the theme “The Longest Continuous Online Post-pandemic Health Care Education.” The activity, held on 13 – 14 and 20 – 21 November 2021, was attended by almost all Departments and Study Programs within the FMUB.

Chairman of the FMUB Anniversary Committee, Dr. dr. Seskoati Prayitnaningsih, SpM (K), in her report, said that the activity is a Community Service program for celebrating the 48th anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya. Besides, this activity collaborates with 33 study programs and 6 departments in FMUB (Department of Medicine, Nursing, Nutrition Science, Pharmacy, and Midwifery).

This series of activities was carried out for 4 days, on 13, 14, 20, and 21 November 2021. As we all know, it has been 2 years since the COVID-19 pandemic crisis has hit Indonesia. The health sector is one of the most affected so that many people experience a decline. The quality of life during this pandemic does affect health not only physically but also mentally and socio-economically. As health workers, we need to provide understanding to the broader community regarding the latest health issues.

Therefore, in the 48th Anniversary of FMUB, we held a series of special activities, namely an educational parade that later recorded a MURI record, a 64-hour online public education marathon. This activity involved more than 30 experts who discussed current health issues.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FKUB, Dr. dr. Wisnu Barlianto, M.Sc., Med., SpA (K), in his speech said, I really support the implementation of the community service webinar in a series of activities for the 48th Anniversary of FMUB with the theme, “Life After Pandemic: Strengthening Collaborative Medical Education and Health care to an Excellent Achievement.”

The Dean also thanked all the organizers and all those who have helped to organize this activity. Hopefully, this 48th FMUB Anniversary webinar can be helpful for the FMUB academic community and the community. I hope.
